What We Do

Colombo North Centre for Liver Diseases (CNCLD) is a multidisciplinary health care facility manned by specialists attached to the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.
We offer services covering the full range of adult and paediatric liver diseases in collaboration with the North Colombo Teaching Hospital to provide state of the art tertiary health care free of charge to patients with complex liver diseases.

Lyzal
Baby Lyzal, a 7-month-old boy from Batticaloa, underwent a liver transplant due to cirrhosis caused by biliary atresia in June 2025. He was very sick and suffering due to liver disease. His mother volunteered to donate part of her liver.
He had his liver transplant surgery at Ragama, Colombo North Centre for Liver Diseases, and recovered successfully within 3 weeks.
Now the family is in full-blown happiness and ready to enjoy the second chance at life that their lovely son received from his own mother.

This young champion is the youngest child to undergo successful liver transplantation in Sri Lanka at the age of just 5 months. His mother donated a part of her liver in this life saving surgery.
